I am reading a suspense/gothic novel called Quietus, and just ran across a line that was so badly funny it stopped me in my tracks. (I am enjoying the book, but this line is a bit much....)
Her stomach was in the grip of pandemonium and the base of her throat tingled with the tumult even though her mind had defected to the dulling division of escape.
That alliteration.......the line just cracks me up.
Anyone else have a line they know of from some story or novel that is just too much?
