A couple of remarks made on my apparent "nosing around" in forums dedicated to authors I don't particularily care for made me consider the way I browse the forum.
I like to click on the "new posts since last visit" button. This gives me an overview over all threads posted in since I was last visiting, and makes sure that I don't miss out on an interesting post just because it is placed in a forum which I do not browse. And if it's a thread I have read before, I can simply click the "unread posts" button and start where I left off.
So how about the rest of you?
P.S. I could wish for a bit more (in)discriminate "new posts"-function. What I mean is, when I click it, I get a few pages as my result. But if I reply to a post (or something. Not exactly sure what triggers it), the "new" status on the rest of the posts disappear, thus I can't use the "go to first unread post"-button anymore. A minor peeve, surely, not of great importance. But if it's done in a jiffy...
