Does anybody know of any big book deals that major fantasy authors have got? I'm talking about the likes of Robert Jordan, David Eddings, Stephen Donaldson, Raymond E. Feist, Tad Williams etc. How much did they get paid and for how many books?
Anybody got any links to online articles about major book ideals from big-name fantasy authors?
Cheers!

Well Steven Erikson got 1.5 million+ to write 9 books. He's a new author though. I think I remember that Tor paid a huge amount to get Goodkinds first book. Can't remember how much but i tink it was a record for fantasy books.

Goodkind is receiving a nice fat $10 million dollar paycheck for his next three books. I can't say I'm surprised; just like Miles Davis, he knew that **** sells.

... proving that there is a devil. Because to who else would Goodkind sell his soul to in order to get that kind of a deal? :P

I didn't realise Goodkind looked like such a tool. I reckonhe'd look right at home in a uni computer lab playing network RPG's against other like minded dorks.
Personal attacks a side, how much must thepublishers be making if they can give TG $10M???

Wow! I thought Goodkind might have been making good money out of his series, but I didn't think he was making THAT much!
What about the likes of David Eddings, Tad Williams, Robert Jordan etc.? Does anybody know what they are making?

Well J.K. Rowling was first or second on the annual female moneymaking list in Britain last I heard.
