just curious, when you begin your novel, do you write it or type it.

I don't have the time to write longhand. I type 80+ wpm, but my handwriting is fairly illegible...

I type fast too, so I wind up typing.

Type. I type a lot faster than I do write. But I do write down any ideas or names that come to me so I won't forget them.

I actually have physical problems holding a writing implement too long -- my hand cramps, badly -- so I always type everything I can. Plus, it's just a heck of a lot fast for me and easier to edit. My handwriting looks like drunken chicken scrabble anyway, or so I'm told :)

Type.

I hate writing things out by hand--I can never go fast enough, and my hand cramps up or my pen runs out or both. Plus, what if you want to change things? The paper becomes an undeciferable mess of scribbles.
