Final07, Jordan in fact said that it will only take 12 books to finish the series. That means that after this one (Knife of Dreams), there will only be one more! So KoD is really important, and I think that by the time we've finished reading it we'll see whether it looks like Jordan is gonna succeed or fail.

The things I personally am sick of are A) Elayne trying to gain the throne of Andor... it's been like 2 or 3 books or something already, and it's completely uninteresting. B) Perrin trying to get Faile back for something like 2 books.... C) The damn Shaido, still there, still!

I agree with you, the WoT has a lot of plots that have stretched for two or three books.
Me in KoD I want to see Rand do something(most likely get caught by Semirhage), and Mat to go into Finland one more time(He's somewhere near the Tower of Ghenjei that Perrin visted in the SR)

The problem with WoT I've found is that it's promoted as original and non-linear, yet it's actually conventional, even if Jordan doesn't try to do that. Jordan does put in sub-plots and makes it slightly non-linear - but then he effectively ends up writing entire novels about each sub-plot, so it's actually a convoluted mess of novels mixed together, rather than real sub-plots and plots. Jordan's problem is that he doesn't know what not to write, and without a better editor (who isn't his wife), that isn't going to change.

I'm glad the books have lasted so long, and will be sad when they are through... it will be like letting go of dear friends. The drawn out plots to me emphasise the extent of continuous suffering that the characters endure.

Then I think that the WoT characters are nearing suscide.... :)

Lol they must eh? Things are way beyond painful. But seriously... I'd rather be Nyneave or Egwene or Aviendha then some tired member of a lame society and boresom culture. :D However let it be said for the record I would NOT want to be Elayne... she's way to whinny and stupid, I always skip over her chapters. :p

I just imagined a Moderator coming on, and writing a friendly reminder that "We do not allow personal attacks on any characters from fantasy novels, here on this site, which would include calling them stupid." :D

I know it's cheeky, :)

What the mods don't know won't hurt them. Nyneave and Egwene are tired members of a lame society and boresome culture(Aes Sedai) :)

Lol Agent, what I meant was Jordan cleverly crafted a character lacking in intelligence according to his master plan and plot. Like say Darken Rahl is evil you know? Not an attack an observation... heh ;)
