Just wondering if anyone has read any good dark fantasy lately. I've really enjoyed Stephen King's Darktower series, Clive Barker's Imajica and Weaveworld, and Paul Kearney's Monarchies of God (why don't I ever hear anything about that book here?)
Anyone else have any ideas of what to tackle next?

What's your definition of Dark Fantasy? Personally I wouldn't describe DT as Dark:).

From the sounds of it you want very questionable characters, without the length. (Yes I know Dark tower is over a multitude of books, but hey, I'm spreading my opinion.)
Go Mieville. Not horristic, but the characters aren't exactly fluffy.

By 'dark' do you mean gothic or brooding atmospheric. If that's so then just about anything by Tanith Lee would do the trick. Anne Bishop's Black Jewel Trilory might also be what you have in mind.

The Coldfire Trilogy by C.S. Friedman. Half sci-fi, half fantasy, all dark.
Neverwhere and American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Very, very gloomy.

I'll second Gaiman, and throw in a suggestion for Graham Joyce. Both write "urban" fantasy though (or whatever you want to call it), so no knights and wizards to be found. But both write really interesting/awesome books.
Also, most of the cyber-punk kind of stuff is real gloomy, though that's probably categorized under sci-fi. Lot of good books in there, though.

I'll second C.S. Friedman's Coldfire trilogy! Glen Cook's The Black Company is another series that I'd consider dark.

Someone beat me to Cook's Black Company. I'll also second Friedman's Coldfire Trilogy.
