i have just read 5 books in the eddings sparhawk series and although i cant wait to read the remaining book in the tamuli set ....i am hoping it is not the last book written about this fabulous set of characters...the author has taken my boyfriend(who i have patiently read to over the fone...dont ask lol >.<) ...through so many emotions with his great descriptions and his plots that twist and turn making it almost impossible to put his books down that he just has tobe writing more about these characters or i think ill have to reread the set of 6 again O_o;....i looked in online bookstores but there doesnt seem to be any more in the sparhawk set on the horizon... has anyone read this series and has anyone read if there will be more

6 books are all there is in the Sparhawk series, an as far as I know, that's about all he plans on writing in that universe. But never fear, he wrote a very similar set of series prior to Sparhawk. They share the same whimsical nature as much of Sparhawk. The first series is the Belgariad, of which Pawn of Prophecy is the first book. The other series, which has the same cast from the Belgariad is called the Mallorean.
Have fun.

im thinking the series would be as good if not better than the lord of the rings if made into movies...eddings treatment of characters and places is the best...he has such a way with descriptions i have cried...laughed and felt real fear for the characters as i got to know them...i want to read the final book quickly but at the same time i dont want it to end...ill get the other sets in the series...as a sort of off topic has anyone read tad williams ~otherworld series~?....and stephen donaldson ~white gold wielder books~...two different types of fantasy but both excellent to read...anyways thank u for the info...i was hoping u would say he was going on with sparhawk but i guess ill live...just lol....

Eddings is marvelous storyteller, I really enjoyed his Books, now you can get the Belgariad series in two volumes instead of five books, if you like his writing style, give this and the Mallorean series a try, there are also two prequel books that complement the series, polagra the sorceress and Belgarath the Sorcerer.

Another Wollongong poster!
I have to agree with your reccomendations of Williams and Donaldson, I'm not a big fan of Eddings though.

Sorry Merin I'm not into fantasy and find David Eddings boring to the point of clawing my eyes out.
