does anyone want to form a small group of authors who are writing actual novels to provide both critcism and advice? It is something I would find invaluable

Just how were you thinking of setting this up? Are you taking about exchanging complete novels or just ideas to see what flies?

Not entire novels, just ideas and themes and everything, maybe swapping small extracts from them to evaluatle the writing style or pick up mistakes.

I don't think I'd have time for this, though I'd really like to.
Maybe novelists seeking feedback could post blurbs and/or synopses of their novels -- and maybe a brief biography of their writing career -- and then people browsing the thread can choose which novel they want to critique, or exchange crits of. That's how I choose new authors to read in a bookstore.

Sounds interesting, but I'll have to get back to you. Work is starting to heat up again and I'm not sure how much free time I'll have over the next few weeks.

If people are up for a snowflake approach, see excellent thread in the Writing section and want to swap ideas based on that, count me in, I need a kick up the arse anyway.

Or go straight to the model:
