Now I don't me to play the role of the ass, but I am rather curious of what you all have to say about life. Like what is the purpose and stuff like that.
thanks

I'm going to present one opinion about life- i could give more but I'd end up writing a big thesis on the subject and noone would read it- so I'll post and other people can post other opinions.

From a strict biological view- ur genes control your life. The only reason you exist is to be strong wnough to pass on your genetic material to your offspring. In nature, survival of the fittest applies- the genes which are an advantage to the environment survive, the weak genes die, thus furthering evolution. That's it- no greater purpose or any theological baloney. Just pass on ur genes to the next generation. Works great in principle, until what u think modern medicine has done to evolution.

In books, the theory is under the heading 'the selfish gene'.

That's just one point of view- I'm not saying I agree with it, but it was the shortest post I could write here.

Having pondered "Life" I have concluded that the gene theory is like the other "shrink-to-fit" jean it really is a matter of your perspective. I think theres more to life, intrinsiclly, then passing on your own genetic code.
Perhaps it is to leave a happy trail in your travels and adventures.
Perhaps it is to set a new land speed drinking record.
Maybe Life means you're suppose to beat-up the aliens when they get here.
Possibly it is to wear a spandex crime fighter outfit with a cape then beat-up monsters.
Perhaps it is to conquer the universe and bring odor to galaxy.
Maybe you're suppose to play guitar in a traveling rock band sow your seed wildly about the land.
Maybe life means to crave power to dominate others.
Possibly your suppose to spank very bad girls.
Personally I think life is a four dimensional continuim which, as biological beings, we can only experience three dimensions, and all the events have been predetermined.
Then again you could be right. I think tonight I will procreate wildly with the Barbie across the hallway so I can help her pass her jeans onto the floor with mine.

the purpose of life: to live (and perhaps to hope)

I think tamlyn is 100% right, everyday I find new reasons to live & every time I look at my little girl I find hope.

"Conan, what is best in life?"

"To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!"

Well I always thought the purpose was to fill your little car with little pink or blue people and be the first one across the finish-line with the most cash in hand... But then I never have been good at the game of life, except for the part about filling the mimivan with carseats, that is... ;)
