Abuse wanted

Okay people. Two of my short stories have been posted and I'm anxious for a little feedback.

Short stories aren't really my medium of choice, but after cranking out a couple of novels I was hoping to bulk up the 'ol biblio.

The first is a sci/fi called "Leisa". The second is titled "The Dead Man's Tale" and is fantasy. I just scribbled out the fantasy over a weekend in case some of you fantasy buffs would feel more comfortable critiquing in your chosen genre.

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of sending each to the site right after finishing them (isn't it amazing how many typos you just can't see until a few weeks distance from the writing?).

I've read the first page of "The Dead Man's Tale" and was intrigued enough to print both of them out to read tonight or tomorrow sometime. I’ll let you know what I think.

I know that critiquing entire stories smacks of something like homework, but any suggestions would be much appreciated. :D
