Has anyone else read this yet? It's by Walter Jon Williams. I read the first two books in the as-yet unfinished trilogy and enjoyed them quite a lot. I thought it was pretty fun space opera.

I've also read the first two. I have to say that I enjoyed them immensely. Although I'm not sure it's going to be a trilogoy; they might be making a longer series? I'm not sure...
I liked these books particularly because they didn't try to be more than they were: good old-fashioned space opera. The grand battles were excellent and the tactics well thought out. And I enjoy reading about all the political wrangling.
I'm glad not every book is like these, because too much of it would get boring. But every once and awhile, it's just the perfect thing.

One quibble: did anyone else feel that the "boy meets girl, boy looses girl, girl keeps in touch with boy, boy gets girl, boy looses girl, etc..." was a little much?

I wrote to him recently, and according to the email he sent back, there will be one more book to complete the Naxid War, but there may be more books set in this universe.

I thought the boy meets girl, boy loses girl, girl meets boy, girl gets boy, etc. was a stretch. I also think that both of those characters were very shallow. They essentially broke up over one argument. If people in real life acted that way, no would ever stay married, or get married in the first place.
