Basically, I have short stories and nothing to do with them. Could anyone suggest good places to submit fantasy short stories, preferably to paying places?

These sites have some lists of mags and publishers.

Also getting a copy of the writer's and artist's year book is a good idea... the writer's handbook is ok... but they do list vanity presses and some are not marked as such.. which I found out *g*

hmm, due to living in the UK, sending things off by post is slightly cost prohibitive. Do any of these magazines accept online submissions?

Yes some do.
A few are even ezines.
Some lean towards horror or science more too.

Off topic:
If you are in a cardboard box in the middle of the road... do you have to get up at twelve o'clock at night, and LICK the road clean with your tongue, have half a handful of freezing cold gravel, work twenty-four hours a day at the mill for fourpence every six years, and when you get home, does your Dad slice you in two with a bread knife?

Or er... not?

I did.....

But thats all changed since I invested in property through Timeshare :D

Or actually it could be an imaginary box in an imaginary road...

Who knows?

Definitely put them on Elfwood: http://www.elfwood.com it's the biggest site on the web for fantasy/sci-fi art and stories.

http://www.fictionpress.com is a good place too for all kinds of stories.
