J V Jones

Her Book of Words trilogy was pretty good. Each book got better.

Her villians are her best characters.

I've got her Sword of Shadows books too, but haven't read them yet.

I am going to be different and say Juliet McKenna. She has written 5 books so far and the first 3 are very enjoyable but the story does gets tired after book 3.

Jude Fisher, though I have only read her one book, Sorcery Rising , I found it very intense and enjoyable. I consider her to be Martin-lite, not as a putdown, but because her novel/series ,so far, is not very predictable.

Are we allowed to use other authors with names beginning with "j"? There are a disproportionately large amount :)
Out of the choices, JV Jones, read the Barbed Coil, it's her best book, in my humble opinion.
