Dear All...

Just curious if any of you that inhabit these boards are planning on visiting the WFC this year - it's in Tempe, Arizona on 28th-31st October for those who want to know.

I only ask because I'm heading over there myself this time around. There's always the possibility of an SFFworld forum beer hour...

Hey NOM! I will be there again. I am going to do a reading, and hopefully be on a panel. I have three books coming out the month before the Con, so it should be pretty exciting. We are planning on hosting a release party on Saturday evening - we being me and a couple of other authors and small presses. Hope you will attend!

You know, we should have some literature printed up for SFFworld to pass around!

NOM - good to hear and 'best' to all our 'missionary workers' and attendees.

Can I suggest that you have a 'beer hour' before GemQuest does his reading? :) Might steady nerves, or.....

Perhaps not.

Good to hear the small presses 'doing their thing'.

Sounds like fun and am very envious. Halloween too!

(World Convention, 2005, anyone :) ?)

Is the convention more for the writers and publishers of fantasy novels? Or is it an excuse for all and sundry to get together and talk books? And do you know who will be speaking?

Sorry for the list of questions there! I'd love to go to a fantasy books convention but it is not exactly realistic for me!

World Fantasy has a lot of industry people in attendance. And, a real lot of authors doing readings and signing books. Lots of fans as well. The panel discussions can be interesting and informative.

Here is the link. You can see there who is speaking etc. Each year, the theme changes. Browse around....

Thanks Gemquest. Now to find and convince a friend that would willingly accompany me to it in 2005!

Excellent you'll be there, GQ. NO doubt we can sit around a beer or two at some stage.

Hobbit - I'm planning on being at WorldCon 2005. It is a relatviely short distance after all, to the frozen north of our great country.

That would be my pleasure, NOM. Are you planning on participating in any way?

Well, I've sent in details and said I'd read, participate on panels etc but have heard nothing just yet. Usually it's not all locked down until late on. Hopefully, I'll get to do something or other.

Hopefully, I'll get to do something or other. Erm, get the beer, pay for the beer, buy the beer.... and talk about football? :D

And yes, the 2005 is a lot nearer to Hobbit Towers than the 2004 - but still in a different country!
