Does anyone know of an addin for Word 97 that will keep count on the fly, that is tell me how much I'm writing as I write it?

Ideally I want something that will display how many words there are in a document to start with and a figure next to it to show how many I've just added to it, with maybe a total of the two just for completeness.

If there isn't one does anyone know how to go about making an addin for Word so I can have a go myself?

TIA

You know what I'd like? A program that can tally word counts over multiple documents. I have 300 some reviews I've written that i'd like to tally the word counts over all.

I have managed to get the info I want to pop up on a small form at the click of a button.

I might pretty up the button and form later on and post it as a .DOT file to my website. I'm sure other people would find this useful.

I use Word XP, but I think this option is available in all Word(s).

VIEW>>TOOLBARS>>Word Count

This will pop-up the toolbar for Word Count. Simply grab it and dock it with all your other tool bars. I also have the Reviewing toolbar there as well for Comments.
