Doesn't seem like a dumb question to me. :)

I did some reading on it in the past. Most people use a script-like format to write what's going on in each panel and the dialogue, what have you. I don't think there's a strict guideline to follow, I know for example, Marvel comics has its own specialized format credited to Stan Lee from the 60's. So I guess whatever works for you and can get everything across to the artists. Maybe see if you can find some comic book scripts on the web.

Came across this book a while ago: The Dc Comics Guide to Writing Comics (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0823010279/qid=1093735198/sr=8-3/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i3_xgl14/103-4745361-2107845?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) Mind you I haven't read it so I don't know how good it is, but I see people complaining that it's mostly focused on style and format, so it might be of use to you if you've got a few dollars to spend.
