I got suckered into submitting a story for the first round of workshops in my writing class. Luckily I just finished up a story set in (a small corner of) my major fantasy world. I'm not sure how well the class/prof will take it. From the general atmosphere, I've got hope. But I'd like to make it the best possible representative of the genre I can write before I let people who may not be to familar with fantasy or might (dare I say it) look down upon the genre.

Which brings me to you guys, as writers and readers of the genre. The story is just over 5K words long. If I accomplished my goal, it should be dark and disturbing (maybe depressing too.) If I failed, it'll be laughable, malicious, and foul mark against the Fantasy community. I'll let you be judge of that.

So, if anyone wants to read it and comment, I'll PM or email it to you since it's too long to post here.

Thanks.

I got Forrest's comments last night. "It's weird." That pretty much sums up his review. Anyone else want to take a peek?
