online writing tools?

Hello there,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend online writting tools to write. Something sort of like a blog, I guess.

I was thinking the one I am looking for should be:

1) Free (yes, I am a cheap bastard).
2) Allow me the option of showing things publically or privately
3) Have at least basic formatting functionality (underline, italicize).

Anyone have any suggestions?
