Alan Moore "Watchmen"
Heard nothing but good good stuff about this one. Supposedly up there with Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" (got it, loves it) as a groundbreaker.

"Battle Royale" (Manga)
Big fan of the films, read some of these in store and they seem if anything even more hard hitting if also a little more superficial.

What do you think of these choices?
