I'm trying to remember a short story I read years ago but I can't remember the title or the author...all I do remember is that it is about a futuristic house that is entirely self sufficient. I think it is set post nuclear war but I'm not even entirely sure about that. I know this description is very vague but if anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!
Rebecca

That sounds like a story out of Ray Bradbury's "The Illustrated Man" collection, although I don't have it to hand and can't come up with the title off the top of my head. Anyone else know the one I'm talking about?

It might also be the story "There will come soft rains" from the Martian Chronicles by Bradbury. It's set in a futuristic house that still functions years after its inhabitants have left Mars.

Thanks Minibrite, that was it. I had started thinking that it was Bradbury but since I couldn't find the story I was questioning my memory. I appreciate the help!!
