For those of you who don't know, our very own Gemquest (Gary Wassner) is about to have the first three books of his Gemquest series (so that's where the name comes from!) published.

Click here (http://www.wotmania.com/fantasymessageboardshowmessage.asp?MessageID=11589 8) to read a review of them.

I won't spoil it by summarising, but I will say that it reads as a very fair but still undeniably positive review.

I look forward to reading them myself.

Well done Gemquest!

Agreed Congrats GQ.

Are they going to be released in UK at the same time?

I'm reading Gemquest: The Twins. I give it two enthusiastic thumbs up. I had read the sample chapters on his site and knew I had to read the books.

Brilliant Gemquest.

I can understand how at first, you may have grimmaced at some of the earlier comments, but then you are a perfectionist, and these books are your babies right? If someone looks into my pram at my baby, they had better say she is gorgeous or at the very least... Nice pram. You published authors don't have that luxury lol.

The point is, this very hard to please critic, liked your story enough to want to finish all three books in quick succession and recommends that people buy them!!! That is fantastic really, and you can already see that people are going to look out for the series.

I can't wait to read them and I have to say that the review made me want to pick them up, so congratulations.

Ooo, cool, sentinent trees! He was thorough, wasn't he? But there wasn't enough plot description for me of the second two books. Too much philosophy, not enough detail. :)

But it was a positive review, saying that you are worth watching and people on that site seem to be reacting positively to it. That's the first big step -- getting people to go "ooo, that's sounds good," so there you go. Nice to have a reviewer who concentrates on a writer's strengths, rather than slicing and dicing.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! The support, knowledge, willingness to share and generally incredible level of appreciation and discourse here at SFFWorld has made the journey from ideas to manuscripts to published books so much easier to achieve. I humbly thank everyone who had a kind, and not so kind, word to say in this regard! You live, you learn. You need both sides.
