I wanted to get a subscription for magazines that do with SF/Fantasy or both. Can anyone give me a couple of recommendations as to whats good. Im in Ireland so if its available here that would help as well.
Only one I know of off hand is Analog for SF

Thanks

In the UK you've got
Interzone http://www.ttapress.com/IZ.html
The Third Alternative http://www.ttapress.com/publTTA.html

I don't know what the deal with the following US magazines are, but I've found good stuff in them
Black Gate http://www.blackgate.com
The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Ficiton http://www.fsfmag.com

I subscribe to Realms of Fantasy, which is primarily fantasy and a super publication. I also started to get Amazing Stories and find it pretty good. When I get home, I'll try to get the addresses up here.

http://www.rofmagazine.com/ is the link to Realms of Fantasy, great site. I don't know any english magazines for fantasy and/or sf myself besides SFX Magazine, which has a very large section for TV and films reviews and a much smaller section for bookreviews. Still a fun read.

Asimov and Analog both deliver internationally I think.

Hard to decide what to get. The TTA ones and the above all look great. plus the ones from the us have the added advantage that the exchange rate for euros is great at the moment. I might go for all four and decide later which ones I dont want.

Thanks for all the help

My favorite magazine on the market in Magazine
of Fantasy & SF. They publish both SF (no hard SF, more
stuff in the tradition of Le Guin, Keyes, etc.), fantasy
(no heroic fantasy but a lot of contemporary fantasy in
the tradition of Charles De Lint, Nina Kiriki Hoffman)
and horror (they used to publish Stephen King and
Joyce Carol Oates)

In general their stories are of a very good quality.
Their website is www.fsfmag.com

Thanks for posting that link for Realms of Fantasy, Phedre.
As for Amazing Stories, I bought the latest issue just last night.....here's the link for it:
www.paizo.com/amazing

There is a cool article in it about China Mieville, "The Weird, Weird West" by Therese Littleton. There is also an original story by Greg Keyes.

I read mostly fantasy and sf but almost exclusively in book format. I've never subscribed to a fantasy/sf magazine but now that I've taken up writing again after a long hiatus I want to submit some short stories to some popular magazines.

Could anyone let me in on some of the more popular ones and other such fantasy/sf publications (non-magazine).

Thanks

Nisim
