if they ever made one, which is doubtful, because it would be so hard to do. but who would you cast as some of the characters?

Billy Krudup as Jaqen H'ghar.
I also for some reason think that Roberto Bernini should be in there somewhere, although I have no idea who he could play. Maybe Littlefinger, so he can explore his dark side.
Leo Di'Caprio as Ser Loras Tyrell (cuz he's so gay!!)
I'm drawing a blank for most people though. I'll get back to you.

Roberto Benigni!! I don't remember a psycho/jester character in these books! http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

I agree that Di'caprio has done some lame stuff, but he really is one hell of an actor. Didn't anyone see What's Eating Gilbert Grape?! I see him more as Jamie Lannister. Maybe Cameron Diaz as Cersei since she looks so mean to me! I just thought of the perfect guy to play Jamie.. Christian Bale. Blonde, fair skinned, almost too good looking, and with a streak of malice.

Jodie Foster as Catelyn Stark. A strong actress for a strong character

Maybe Harrison Ford or Patrick Stewart as Eddard Stark.. needs to be someone who can play that strong and silent type.

Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid from the latest Harry Potter movie) is such a great character actor that he would have to be in there somewhere. Maybe as the Hound.

I found the following website very helpful since it lists most of the characters from ASoIaF. A nice way to jog my failing memory! Don't look through this site if you haven't read the books.. it does give away some parts of the plot!!!

Let's remember the ages of the characters:
Ned is only in his late 30s, Steward and Ford are too old imho.
Daniel Day Lewis comes to my mind for Eddard.

The perfect Robert would be John Rhys Davis (Gimli or Sallah in the Indiana Jones movies), though he may be a bit too old too.

Cameron Diaz is a bit young for Cersei, If she were blond I would say Katherine Zeta Jones, who is perfect as a bitch, but Robin Wright Penn (princess bride) would do

Jodie Foster would be a good Catelyn though my choice would be Kate Blanchett

Kevin Spacey would be a perfect little finger

The hound is actually the only character GRRM said he wrote with an actor in mind, and that actor was Ron Perlman (who worked with GRRM on the beauty and the beast tv series)

^^^is ron perlman the guy who played vincent?

anyway, there's some good suggestions here. i don't know about what particular characters they could play, but i think gabriel byrne, anthony hopkins would be good in it.

also, i think an ideal choice for Brienne would be that chick from a league of their own, the big, ugly one who got drunk and was singing karaoke. i don't know why but every time i picture brienne, i picture her.

cate blanchett as catelyn would be good too, though i like the jodie foster idea.

i think if helena bonham carter was blonde she'd make a good cersei.

here's a tough one guys, what about Tyrion?

and don't say the mini me guy from austin powers. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

Ah well, if nothing else, they could get one of those midget dudes that played the Oompa Loompas in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif
Tyrion could go around singing:

Oompa Loompa Doompity Doo,
I've got another puzzle for you,
Oompa Loompa Doompity dee,
If you are wise you won't make fun of me,

What do I get when I have twenty whores?
When I'm done with them I'm terribly bored
I'm always made fun of in royal court
Cause I am sadly just too short!!

Yes I'm just a poor midget!! http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Tyrion is really pretty tough, I can't imagine an actor who could play this guy, but in my mind I do exactly know how he's looking...

What about the early king? Robert Baratheon, I think, the actor who played Gimli in TLOTR would suit perfectly, and his "son" - This enerving child Joff could be played by Macauly Culkin a few years ago, when "Kevin" was in cinema.

Does anyone know "Willow"? Val Kilmer played a guy called MadMartigan in this motion picture, imho it might be cool if he'd play Ned Stark.

And now a very tough person, Khal Drogo, Arnold Schwarzenegger in his early days, as he played Conan

Cersei could be played by Katja Riemann - I don't think that anybody here knows her, but here in Germany she is quite successful- the role of the mobbing bitch would be perfect for her.

Jaime Lannister could be played by Ryan Phillipe... And what about Jon Snow? Who could play him? I don't know- does anybody?

Does anyone know "Willow"? !!!

It is only one of my top five favorite movies of all time! Val Kilmer as Ned.. interesting, but I think he's just too comic to play him (my own bias). I think Gabriel Byrne would make a good Ned Stark.

Jon Snow.. my favorite and the one that no actor that I know of can do justice to.
