I've recently created a database on my computer of all the books I've read, own, and want to read, as well as the date I read them. I was wondering if anyone else does this? - be it on PC or paper.

I considered creating one, though, rather unsurprisingly, after adding the first book, I couldn't be bothered with adding any others ;)

I don't keep one of books that I own, but I keep a paper list (backed up occasionally on Excel) of books that I want to read. It's about 30 pages long now. I check off a book once I buy it, then cross it off once I've read it. I've read over a third of the books on my list now, but every month I get an issue of Locus and the list grows and grows! :D

You should go see the threads Database for Organizing Home Library (http://www.sffworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6086) started by Miriamele and book collections (http://www.sffworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9109) started by msmosser.
They mention a shareware program called Readerware that lets you enter barcodes from the books to get all the info on it. Might be worth $40.

One for college books, which is pretty up-to-date. You would not believe how many children's books there are out there!!
and
a fiction database that I have not updated in a couple of months of books I have read and what I need to read.

Unbelievable! 30 pages! I should start buying some sci-fi/fantasy mags... can anyone tell me the ones to look out for?
