As requested, Huo Ah makes an appearance at

You really do produce on demand! :D Another excellent story, capturing well the public/private worlds that often co-exist within the Asian psyche.

It's very, very hot, and we have no air conditioning, so productivity is down... My poor PC is complaining, the fans whirring away... Here's another simple portrait, trying out a new figure and some new clothes.

I'm guessing on centaurs; my sister has horses. I don't think they would wipe their butts even if they had arms.

Interesting story, HE, but now it makes me not like the picture. :)

Like the new one, Kevin. Good luck with the house.

...even if they had arms.
Translating, I presume, that they would probably adopt more equine behavior for that activity. How many other activities would they adopt equine behavior? Can get really gross if carried too far. Consider the prelims to mating.

I take it you found Huo Ah objectionable. Would it surprise you to discover that I have strong feelings for her, feelings that the Thorn's art stirred from a long ago age? She is hero, not anti-hero, to me.

I like the new one, too. And people who insist on DIY projects deserve the misery such engender.:D

No, that's not the problem. I didn't find Huo Ah objectionable. It's now I know that she's angry and what the dance is for, so I can't really enjoy her dancing with the fans, now can I?

My first take on the picture was a young modern woman doing a dance performance -- in the U.S. Not exactly a brothel. The face value, if you will. You went behind the face for one possible approach to the picture, with a strong character voice. But that makes the picture a picture of a tragedy, which changes the picture. The power of context, if you will.

It also shows how different people bring completely different perspectives to the same image. It's one reason I tend not to name my pictures (other than whay you might see as a file name) with anything too "meaningful" since I like to have people come away with whatever it is they wish to see. I'd say my own "interpreation" of the picture was somewhere in between the two of you - a fan dance in an Asian setting, but not in a brothel or by a pseudo-Geisha, but simply a slightly sad-faced young woman, whose melancholy mood is perhaps matched by the slow somber movements of her fans.

And thank you both for the comments about my "lady with canine companion." :)

After I just said I don't name 'em, this one has a name. It's called "The Winter Fairy Greets the Springtime Tabby."

IMO this is the most . . . amusing thread in SFFworld.

Lol Rad I love your, "You guys are very, very strange."

Oh yeah and Rockety lay off on the butt-wiping action.

I suppose that's... a good thing. At least we're all having a good time in here! :D

Nice to see all you new faces stopping by - glad to have you on board!

Can I help it if some pickkies raise bizarre biological questions? And if KatG knows all the answers?

Kevin's very patient, really.
