I am here, indeed, if briefly: directing bored persons to the chattery... ;) Unless said bored persons of course want to be on topic. As Gemini is, all the time. She's the Kidnap Queen, dressed up in her piractical gear... eye-patch, cutlass and all. Cool!

You're in England, Silvia? Only two weeks then to wait. I hope it's worth it!

"Greetings, earthlings".... hmmmm. Would it be on topic if i were to say, oh i don't know, suggest you're actaualy an alien :D , i mean, if we are going to go into the whole pirate thing, i may as well mention anteni, three fingered hands, largish eyes and abductions . Oh Silvia, trapped over there in jolly ol' England, the mother country, waiting with baited breath for May 1st...

It is a bother, having to wait for books to be written (I know myself, as a reader) - so I'm sorry! The poor Australians had to wait two years, that is, if they bought The Gift when it first came out. So it could have been worse!

I guess "Greetings earthlings" isn't exactly a topic  Yes, of course I'm an alien, or at least my kids say I am. But quite a nice one. No antennae or odd eyes, just loads of sixties eyeliner and silver jumpsuits...

I have to say, I slowed down a lot with The Crow. The first drafts of The Gift and The Riddle took about three/four months each (I'm not counting rewrites, which took longer); The Crow took over a year. But I think that was partly my insane idea that I could write The Crow right after finishing The Riddle (I'm much humbler now). So I'm taking a break before I start the next one...!

Ahhh but 3 to 4 months is amazing and a year is just well expected if i was to write books as good as yours i suspect it would take a lot more than a year
