Wouldn't dream of it, Rad - I'm no dolphin! :p I like it here.

(And I finally worked out how to use those smiley things.)

Yes, yes... but have any of you worked out why they have a "it's a great bbq but I just ate a bad prawn" smiley? :o

It looks ill doesn't it? :o

Yes, they're all a bit bizarre. In real life, being a sober and serious person, I disapprove of smilies; but my inner child breaks out now and again and there's nothing I can do about it. It probably looks like this one  or at least I would like to think so; I suspect it is probably more

Marrianne is asking in her thread who is going to be in Glasgow for the world con this year. You're in England in July. Glasgow is August. Any chance your first con is the world one?

Damn, Rocket, wish I could. Apart from anything else, I've never been to Scotland and would love to go. I have to be home by August so my annoying husband can go to France.

Alison, come! I will be there, as will James Barclay. I think that Scott Bakker told me he is planning on going as well. we could have a sffworld party. I am trying to convince Dag to come as well. Steve Savile will also be there.

Awwwww.....

I'm going to be in the UK from early June, doing poetry readings and festivals and suchlike and hopefully some publicity for The Riddle, which is out there in May. Already a few unmoveable dates. I just can't be away for more than eight weeks, I miss my babies, quite apart from Daniel having a residency in Bordeaux. But I'm cursing as I write this, it would be brilliant.

These are the babies that pat you on the head, yes?

alison

Yep, the same ones. The babies that laugh mercilessly at their mother typing furiously away in her spotty Dalmatian dressing gown (never go shopping with PMT) and give me lessons in cool as they head out to hear indie Melbourne bands...
