Ah Gemini, you sound so lonely - not enough chocolate? Just to answer your queries: IMHO means In My Humble Opinion; and Colun is pronounced COLIN (short "o"), not like a part of someone's anatomy. And Tari, I've only been to Perth once in my life - I went to the Perth Festival in 1994 when they put on an opera I wrote the words for, so many years ago it seems now! I had a great time. But no visits in the immediate future, I'm afraid, though even history students don't scare me - :D Only Pellinor readers

Bummer. oh well i'll have to convince Les (organises the Master Class authors etc) to see if you can come over before the end of nxt yr. nxt yr tis my last yr!! :( The Fremantle Street Arts Festival has been on all easter weekend so i've spent all weekend in town with my friends. my family is really catholic, you know church the lot but i'm not so the festival is a good break. my friend was performing last night so i went and watched. i performed on Saturday arvo. twas really hot in Freo. my friend does the trapeze and they strung it up between two three story buildings for her to work from. twas so awes. the finale is tnoight at 11-ish so i'm going then too but i need to get soem homework done so my parents will take me.

dw i'd be very afraid then Alison. Very afraid!!! :D  You've never sat in a history class at our school. . . . .u have no idea!!!!

Unfortunately Gemini only Modern. our skool is new, about 5yrs or so old and we dont have the numbers. although what i dont get is we asked our history class (15girls) who would do ancient instead of modern if it was a choice and 11 said they'd do ancient if it was an option but the school wont get it for us. i wish they had a Medieval history course coz medieval is kind of in between modern and ancient. howz bout you. modern or ancient? wat country u from? memory blank.

i is doin TEE exams and stuff for Uni and am doin 6TEE and 1 non instead of 5 TEE and 1 non. i do private tutoring for music coz our skool is so underdeveloped. it can get really annoying sometimes coz the skool is really limiting.

What subjects you do?

if your interested mine are below:

History (Modern)
Drama studies
Literature
Introductory Calculus
Human Biology
TEE Music Studies

Independent Living

I do Modern as well, my school does offer ancient as a correspondence course though and we did some preliminary stuff in SOSE in junior. I'm over in Qld *Gemini waves over the vast trackless wastes of the Australian continent to Tari* so i think in terms of Board subjects and QSC and OP's etc etc. I do Art, English, Modern History, Geography (Going on a camp to Fraiser Island nxt week sooo excited :D ), Maths A(ie the easy maths ;) ),Religious Education (compulsory unfortunatly) and Outdoor Education (the only non-board subject i do, ie that means it doesn't contribute to my OP, which helps determine what uni i can get into etc etc). My school has been open for a while (something like 30 yrs) so you can do pretty much anything, and if the school doesn't have actual classes then you can just do it through corespondence.

OH that's right..... this in Alison's forum  sorry for getting off subject :D

and Colun is pronounced COLIN (short "o"), not like a part of someone's anatomy. ohh i thought it might be... but still for a moment there...

Way, you guys all like history as well. I prefer ancient and mediaeval. Do you think there's some sort of link between historians and fantasy-lovers?
As for the subjects, here in England I'm still in senior school, and that means I dont get much of a choice as to what I study. Still have to do maths...*shudder*

Still have to do maths...*shudder* Yeah, the way the school has arranged our timetables means that in the end you'll always end up with a least one maths class, so even though they say it's not compulsory, you don't really have a choice. Though we were allowed to choose most of our subjects after yr 10 :p . I don't know about the link between History and Fantasy lovers, :D lol my mum's a history teacher (it makes Hist. essays sooo easy having my own private resource at home! :D ) and she can't stand Fantasy. Has anyone else on here take or has taken History as a subject?

Gemini you have no idea how lucky you are to be at an established skool.

You live in queensland??!! :D **waves back** I is goin to Surfers Paradise in two weeks!!! :D yay!!!

they always say maths isn't compulsory but you really have to do it anywayz to get into any uni course so nxt yr i'm dropping a maths level to ensure i pass. me i'm more a humanities girl. essay and research not darn tests and inclass investigations. Religion is compulsory here also so is sport but the sport i dont mind and the RE can be quite amusing simply bcoz i'm an athiest going to a catholic skool so i can argue the entire lesson and get away with it . . . . .and usually win mind you ;) . . . . i dont know how you can stand geography.

speaking of teachers has anyone had a weird encounter with a teacher? i'll give you an example. (soz me and my friend were just talking bout this)

I do Drama Studies, as i mentioned earlier and for our most recent performance i am playing Risika, the youngest daughter of Saetan but the favourite one. anyway she is totally evil and so much fun. we were sitting at lunch near the double doors outside the Science Block offices and this new teacher walked past and i only just recently discovered his name. anywayz i was looking in the opposite direction and i screamed out AND I'M THE DAUGHTER OF SAETAN as he walked past. i turned around and he gave me the weirdest look and laughed at me then wlaked inside. but the funi thing is he now randomly gives me and my friends chocolates and stuff every lunch!

i'll never get teachers but one day i'll end up one. trust me. my science teacher said i would end up teaching highskool and now thats wat i'm aiming for!! SCARY PSYCHIC TEACHERS !!!!! **Runs and hides in corner**

~ Tari

p.s. Soz Alison this is your forum. **innocent smile** if you wish us to stop this random skool related topic i'll shut up :)

lol, yeah i've had a few strange experiences with teachers. Our science teacher (Ian Nankervis, apparently he was a Aussie Rules star) had a breakdown one day, which was kinda mean. and :D we have the STRANGEST maths teacher ever, his name's Mr Grant. He has a limp to begin with (he always wears long pants... so there's this rumor going around that he has a wooden leg), he eats chalk and (damn it! i wish i had been there!) one day in class at the start of the term, he was doing revision and lol... *Gemini slumps over in an agony of giggles* he asked Bart the answer to a question. Bart says "Sorry Sir, i don't know", Grant replies "That's alright son, we're human we all forget things... i'm human too, sometimes when i go to the toilet, blood comes out my bum".............   ....... i've asked several people from that class, they all confirmed it.....lol, strange days. Ah yes Queensland the Sunshine state, lucky me :p :D , i live up on the Sunshine Coast. i lurve Geography! Did you have a bad geo experience or something (i had an awful teacher who almost turned me off it in yr 10), i'm loving it at the moment b/c we go to Fraiser next week, yay!!!!!!!!!!! But i'm going to be dead tired b/c i'm going to Missy Higgins the day after we get back, i get a brief rest on Mon, then Tues we go down to Brisbane Art Gallery to see the Ministers (Awards for excellence in Art, one of our students won) and then on Wed i have my Eng essay....... (there's no dying of sleeplessness smilie unfortunatly).
