woah look what happens when i go away for a bit you start talking about school(shame on you ;) )... i have to do something to fill in the time till the riddle comes out in the uk
oh well back to uni assignments! What is it... 32 days now? Soon we'll all be able to have one big happy chat about the Riddle (my sympathies for Maerad are starting to well up now that i've had time to digest it, she really doesn't have a fun time in Riddle *evil miniacal laugh* least it's not me! :D ) . I know, it's the Easter school holidays and we're still talking about school... so sad :D . Alas, i too have been ignoring my english assignment and my history essay and must dash to make some sort of headway on them, sigh.

~11 days!~ (the big 6-9 in posts! :D)

*PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT* "Remember folks, Azhure-bashing isn't fun! It's not her fault Axis 'cheated on' Faraday!"

And now you're all talking about Shakespeare!

This forum gets scarier all the time...

Well, I love Shakespeare, especially the tragedies; and if I could write as well as he can, I'd be happy (wouldn't we all). Ian McKellan (yes, Gandalf himself) has done a particularly good film of Richard III, which my son Josh is obsessed by; you should get hold of it. And I read lots of history. I think an interest in fantasy and history is most definitely linked.

BTW i was reading back over the thread, you are so lucky to have a friend who's read Pellinor, i don't, i have no one to talk to about them... cept for you guys a course . I know i should convince one to read them (Alison would probably thank me ) but non of them like fantasy all that much.

Of course I would thank you! Only this way, you can say that you got there first. They're still very new books - The Gift isn't even out in the US yet. To be honest, and immodest, some friends of mine who never read fantasy have read my books and really startled me with their reactions. A couple never shut up about it. So you could always try them and see what happens...

As for poor Maerad - yes, she does have a tough time. It was a bit harrowing writing it. But Hem has an even worse time. (That was even more harrowing... :(

Also, just a question: has anyone here caught up with the fact that the Pellinor books are no longer a trilogy? My publisher keeps calling them a trilogy though I told them (and told them and told them) two years ago that there are going to be four books.

Oh, now i'm worried about Hem! , I'm preparing myself for the worst... oh nooooo! I think i just guessed what's going to happen to him....  , things aren't going that well for the House of Karn it seems.

Actualy i did see that "Treesong Trilogy" bit on the Australian novels the other day. I was going to ask when you decided to expand it from a trilogy, then i guessed you probably decided to write a book about Hem, or else the whole thing just blew out of proportion and you couldn't figure out when to stop writing or something :D , though Treesong Trilogy had a nice ring to it.

Ah yes, be afraid be very afraid, soon we shall take over, and take alison hostage forcing the pulishers to release Crow in June of this year and keeping her in the basement of our evil corporation until she has churned out the Singing (if you call it that, nice name really...), ahhh yes world domination shall be ours *Muwhahahahahahahahahah*, at least as soon as i've finished QSC... now, where did i put my plans for ultimate world domination? *Gemini wonders off humming "Tomorrow belongs, tomorrow belongs to meeeeeeee"*

Yes believe it or not i picked that up when i discovered the fourth book but in honesty i haven't payed much attention to that small detail. but trilogy sounds good anyway. i mean what do they call a four book series?

Hi Tari - The proper term is "tetralogy". But many people just call a four book sequence a quartet, which is easier to remember...

Personally I like "quadology".... :D

I read that as "quackology", Rad. What? A four part fantasy on ducks?

As for Gemini's nefarious plot - I'm quivering here in my basement, thinking I'd better employ a (gorgeous, of course) bodyguard...

And you have something against fantasy stories on ducks? Just because you won't have any dragons, doesn't mean that some of us don't have fire-breathing ducks, you know...

And sorry about the kidnapping confusion in the other thread - it was Gemini, not Tari, I see. Ah, well. As long as we manage to steal you away, that's what counts... :D

And don't even think about massages. If you saw some of my old posts in what turned into the Playroom... Those were wilder days...

I do solemnly swear that I have nothing against fire breathing ducks - or pigs - or any other kind of farmyard animal - can you take it away now please and feed it some brimstone?

Phew.

FOOT massages, boyo, FOOT massages...strictly therapeutic. Though it's probably a bit sad when you start fantasising about those.
