I've never been to Melbourne, the furtherest south i've gone is Thredbo, i went there on Ski Trip last year and... (i have to mention this at some point :D ).... i met ROVE (of Rove live, if you hadn'y already guessed :D ) at parliment house... sigh, that was the first time i met someone famous, i had a huge grin on my face the rest of the day :D :D < kinda like that lol. I also have to say, i suck at skiing! Has any one else been to Perisher? if you have you know how huge it is, my friend persuaded me to go up the big lift and i didn't want to go down the big hill, so i went the back way, it me 2 HOURS to get back to the bottom ( bottom lol, i'm soooo imature) again... at least it wasn't too cold, we went in spring and i had a nose bleed at Thredbo! I left my bloody mark on the pavement for all eternity! yay!

Mrs. Cadvan April 3rd, 2005, 08:04 AM Woah! Sirion and Mrs Cadvan, you do say the nicest things. That's the kind of thing people say in your daydreams. Thanks so much! Not that it puts any pressure on for the rest of the story or anything. :) All I can say is that I'll do my absolute best not to disappoint anyone who's read so far.
The outbreak of duck madness was, er, nothing to do with me. I think...
I'll be an extra happy-chappy WHEN (oops, I mean if) Maerad and Cadvan get it on. :)

Hun. i think Maerad and Cadvan getting together will either make or break the tetralogy depending on how it's writen and how its done. u know wat i mean so me personally i not pushing it either way i'd prefer to wait and see how much influence the characters have over Alison and her writing!!! :p

PS i is sticking round for 10mins

ooooo, if, that word.... oh-so-painful, so very obscure and uncertain.. WOW, there was 5 of us on the forum just then, i've never seen so many before... i would put Pellinor up there with my fav's, other wise why would i be here :D ? At times it does beat LotR, as a Gemini my taste are truely "as changable as the weather", so i'll always have these little obessesion bends, getting the Riddle back in march put me on this one, up until then i was "hooked on Harry" lol ever since Dec when we found out the pub, date of HBP. I was on a LotR bend for around 3 yrs (scaaarryyy) until all the movies came out, i read it about 6 times in those three years i think. Anyhoo, back to Maerad and Cadvan, it has to happen... :D. I see what you mean about it making or breaking the series Tari, if it's done hurredly or just slapped on it would feel tainted, the long drawn out build ups are always more fun in the end anyway :D .
Siobhan April 3rd, 2005, 09:16 AM Wow... I'm so glad to finally find people who love these books! I don't know anyone who has read them before and it's so awsome to find that im not alone... also if my opinion means anything, I think Cadvan and Maerad should get together cos they would be a cute couple... even though he is a bit old... but just a bit! :p

Hi Siobhan! Welcome to our little santuary of Pellinor... and yes we all agree with you, the Maerad- Cadvan thing has to happen :D . I too, have no friends who have read the books, so i know how you feel *pats shoulder*, hope you have a great time here at SFF World!
alison April 3rd, 2005, 09:31 AM Hi Siobhan - nice to see you here!

I'll have fun finding out... :D But to be serious for a moment, Gemini is quite right that if A Certain Event did happen (which I for one really don't know, even if this is one world in which I might really be God) it would have to happen in the right way. There would be nothing worse than the kind of thing that happens with cheesy violin strings rising up behind, close ups of flickering fires (you know the sort of thing) and a sudden clinch fading to - er - whatever. My only feeling is that, whatever goes on in that relationship, it has to be quite real, and evolve out of whatever happens, and from who those people are. And being Maerad and Cadvan (remember that Cadvan calls Maerad "Maerad the Unpredictable"!) it's a bit hard to say.
I will say (feeling chatty tonight, and thrown out of the room where we usually chat by my kids and their friends, who are watching a Vincent Price movie) that I'm pretty sure that Cadvan has quite deep feelings for Maerad. But I don't think he really approves of them within himself.

Hmmm, i was thinking the other day about how it all might pan out, and i realised just how very complicated it all is, what with Maerad and all. She seems very stubborn and seems to have a well of (not completely) unfounded fears... its just so frustraiting sometimes when you're not feeling patient. But i do understand the whole "characters not obeying" you thing, i wrote a story once, i had figured otu the begining middle and end... but the time i finished the two bore hardly any resemblence to each other... so, if it doesn't happen, i'll uderstand, i'll just be really dissapointed :D

Yeh, gotta agree with you both. For me, there's nothing worse than a story where the whole point is for two people to meet and gradually fall in love, then finally admit it to each other on the last pages. It makes everything else that happened in the story, every other theme that featured, seem totally pointless. And plus, relationships dont really work like that, do they? But the relationship that you've written between Maerad and Cadvan has been so beautifully done, and its obvious that The Pellinor Series is about so much more than just love. (That's not to say I'm not in favour of that part of it, though!!)
