It raises an interesting problem, though - now there are people with expectations (and gracious, I had no idea what passions might be aroused ) I wonder how it will be writing Book 4. Maybe other writers here might have some idea...

I say dispense of all the other bits and bobs, and turn it into an erotic-fantasy fantasy between Maerad the poor but busty slave wench and the lusty Lord Cadvan de Mimsy-Farquhar-O' Lirigon-shabadahda, following them as they have lots of sex and struggle to get their relationship accepted in the restrictive society that hates them so.:D

Nah, not really. Far too many books like that. And there's one guarantee, there'll always be a line that goes something like this:

'He squeezed her hand. "Everything is going to be okay, my darling."
"Because we've got each other," she said, smiling weakly.
"Exactly. Now kiss me, you gorgeous thing." '

I should know; my best friend makes a habit of writing a story like this each week. :D

I think Hem is getting forgotten with all the Maerad and Cadvan hype... except of course for the fact that The Crow is all about him... if that makes sense to anyone

Aha! You've been peeking at the notes for my next novel, no? A ragingly sexy bodice ripper set in the fantastic land of Cokinade, with a cast of thousands and an interesting dwarfish subplot about onions ... or was it shallots...? and ducks of course.

Haha I reckon once the Crow comes out people will talk about Hem just as much anyway. He's such a loveable guy n all :D

True but untill everyone's read it I think Maerad and Cadvan are where the main focus is on

Yes Hem is an important character and I think he is more important than we think he is because why would she write a whole book about him?
  2006!!!! ahhhhhh tooo longgg!!!!

The fans are getting restless, Carruthers...

I think you will like Hem - well, I did anyway - and yes, he is important.

On some other news - I got an advance copy of the UK Riddle this morning, and have been admiring it from all angles. It's a very handsome book indeed, and looks mighty fine on the shelf next to The Gift (I particularly like the spine design of these books).
