Maybe alison could tell us what it says. We are all getting obsessed over this now.

Hi guys - popping in very quickly. Off to the country today and it's lovely and sunny out there, so it ought to be fun! So this will be brief -

Clavila was killed at around 20 - no one is quite sure exactly how old she is (which is very very young for a Bard - well, young for everybody) when she was thrown from a horse. She and Dernhil were not romantically involved, but Dernhil was close to all of them and by all accounts was greatly affected by her death. I don't know if Dernhil's poem is extant, but I'll have a look for it! But I think it may have been written before she died.

Hope your kittens do ok, Silvia - I've done that, it's difficult.

Yay thanks Alison for telling us :) ! Everyone was kinda getting obsessed with that :D lol but I wonder if Cadvan did anymore with dark arts, because everytime they meet someone evil/corupt/hull that knows Cadvan they drop off hints... so maybe he did something than just summoning the reverant  ... maybe later on...

P.s That's pretty early to pop in Alison! 7 am! I only wake up that early to get to school! (Which unfortunantly starts tommorrow :( )

I dont agree peter that hull was the one who he was in contact with before the reverant incident and i think one bad mistake was probley enough.

Thx alot alison for telling us. I hope you can find that poem!

Hey guys i just thought id tell you that we are down from 3 kittens to one due to the fact that they were about 5 days prem the 1 left is a real fighter and is the only one who was drinking off mum.We are quite certain he will live. :) :(

I agree Silvia, i think Cadvan just had that one inccident with the 'dark arts'. Te only time that a Hull said something about his past dicrepencies was near the end of Gift, i forget what the name of the place is and the Hulls name. I don't think Cadvan waqs ever evil at heart (obviously :D ) which probably would have led him into multiple evil acts, i think he was just curious and only had that one little misadventure.

yes i think curiosity and arrogence was at the heart of it really. He though he was better than everyone else and stronger and could control the reverant.

the place where he meet the hull who he had once been in contact with was at the broken teeth.I think his name was lucid or somehting like that it started with an L.

Well looking at everyones comments, i think you're all right ;) ... Reading "The Riddle" again has reinforced that too... but the paragraph below makes it sound like he did something even worse  ...

Extract from the Riddle pg 179

'"Some of us have longer memories, Bard" said the woman coldly. "I remember your little skirmish with the dark. I would not trust such a man again. I never fully understood why you were banned forever from all schools. Well, the folly of that has become very clear now.'
