I was Likud, so i was almsot right :D. Concerning the quote, she could have just been exagerating. Of course any incident that caused the death of one student, severe injuries for two others and the release of a powerful dark spirit by a student whom everyone had trusted would be considered fairly awful, wouldn't it? So, i'm fairly sure nothing else happened, and i doubt he'd lie to Maerad, didn't Cadvan say he'd had no further involvment with Hulls?

no no no :D , i just got conffuzled after reading the post incorrectly. The qoute in question posted by peter_gia at some point, actualy belongs to a bard that Maerad and Cadvan meet on their way north in the Riddle, but since i'm slipping into spoiler territory (anyone who's read Riddle will know exactly what i mean there ;) :D, v v interesting moment for Maerad that meeting), so *zip* go the lips.

I've edited my previous post to limit any further confusion over my many many typos brought on by my lack of breakfast today.

Hi Alison! How are you? Just wondering how was your trip to the country

Hi all - we're in murky territory here. But yes, what Cadvan did was pretty bad - as far as Bards are concerned, about as bad as can be without actually being a Hull - and only Nelac's intervention stopped him being forever banished from the Schools because of it (like Gilman, the ex-Bard who taught Maerad, must have been). And no matter what he did afterwards - of which more in the Cadvan thread when I find some time - many Bards never trusted him. (Ilar of Desor was the Bard who said that line. btw).

The problem was really Cadvan's arrogance, which he still possesses, all the same; but now tempered by his experience.

Peter, I had a lovely time in the country - I went to see my father, who lives near Ballarat and grows olive trees. It's very pretty around there.

Ahem - nothing worse than getting your own facts wrong - talk about blush. Gilman was of course the thane of the bleak little settlement where Cadvan found Maerad. Mirlad is the name of the Bard who taught her.

Yes, I don't think Cadvan would ever stop being arrogant. But he's learned the hard way to keep it in check.

I think Cadvan's a nice guy too I mean yeah he made one mistake but hasn't everyone? and it wasn't even a huge mistake all he did was meddle with the dark arts and summoned something that killed someone which was his fault but it was also an accident, it's not as if he ran around with a knife and intentionally killed Ceredin so i don't understand why everyone seems so caught up about it.
