Ah well, it's always fun to yap ona nd on about why Maerad and Cadvan simply have to get together :D.

Just popping in - I have a horrendously busy week coming up. (Among other things, I have to start the first rewrite of The Crow). My husband has gone to Paris (the %#@*^&%) and I have to do all the cooking - usually that's his job. And on top of everything, I have a virus, which is slowing me down. But I'm still hoping to get to my Cadvan story by the end of the week...

Hi, LilyoftheBriar (love the name!) - welcome! It's so exciting to see new people coming here. I hope I never get blase about it, it is just the best thing to know people are reading and enjoying the books. That's what I wrote them for! I can't help laughing at the thought of you hiding The Riddle in your revision books... (Btw, Tari and Gemini, how is the hats/scarves/badges end of the business going? Got all those Pellinor badges happening? :p ) But you guys are amazing - some of you have probably read The Gift as often as I have! It makes me even more aware that I have to be careful about the detail, and get it right. Because if I make a mistake, you're going to pick it up. :D (Btw, if you do spot a mistake, let me know - in the UK editions at least we can fix it up in reprints...)

cadvan + maerad wud be da best couple and i hope they get 2gether.

I know you asked this question in another thread, but I'll answer it here. It is THE most frequently asked question about the books! And my answer is that, at this stage, I really don't know (honest I don't). Their relationship has developed with the books, and I feel it's very important to keep it that way, so it feels "true". So I too will just have to wait and see... :)

Paris!?!?! I will then also say *!@$$%^& Im going to live there oneday and be a famous author who is married to a french rockstar and owns a vineyard... its my dream..dont look at me that way or the bubble will burst.
Everytime The Crow is mentioned I always think of the movie with Brandon Lee. I loved that movie.

Anyway, back to the books and the Maerad and Cadvan question. Im still a bit meh on whether or not they should get together. They seem like great friends because of everything they have been through but *shrugs* I dont know if a relationship could be formed. Maybe its some sort of mental infatuation they have for eachother because they seem to perfect together... if that all made any sense.

Ah yes :D *flutters hand at admirers* ...... *snort* not .

I think i have seen mistakes, but i can't remember where, of course maybe i've just blown a couple of nodes in the old brain there doing school work, so you never know :D. lol, badges/ shirts/ scarves would be kind of funky, i only have one piece of fangirl merchadise actualy (ie my Missy Higgins shirt, mmm i love Missy  ).

Annnnnnyyhhooo... PARIS! ahhh wish i was in Paris, or maybe Greece, now THAT would be nice. YAY i have a virus too! *Mutters furiously at Brigid who managed to avoid giving her flu to nobody BUT Gemini*

The Maerad/ Cadvan issue is funny, b/c it's just one of those things that nearly everyone agrees on. I remember thinking right off the bat that those two would get together, of course that's only b/c i've been conditioned that way seeing as most books (as i've said before) will have the main character find a love interest and Cadvan was the only available and attractive candidate for miles :D.

I love this place! so many people totally enraptured by these brilliant books! I'll be getting the Riddle hopefully Friday... I hope!! It took me ages to read through the previous pages, and I saw something there about Cadvan being too old for Maerad, well I remeber in the Gift, [spoiler] Derenhil fell in love with Maerad, and I am guessing he is about Cadvans age, because when cadvan was banned from the schools it was Derenhil and Nelac who helped get him back [/spioler] so I think, according to that, it would be perfectly acceptable for Maerad and Cadvan to come together...if they do (hopefully :D ) Can't wait to read the Riddle, and happy to hold a record though I think I still haven't read it enough! :D
