Has anyone read any of Hutson's novels? He seems to have been in the trade for some time but is overshadowed by the likes of King and Barker. Which elements of horror is he best at depicting?

I think I've read a few more Hutson, perhaps only in part, but i can't remember. Those two, though, I can remewmber clearly.

Read loads of his books when I was in the army, I'd consider him a poor but very gory James Herbert. Most of his books are like pages from a coroners report. But very easy to read and even easier to forget.

I'm not a fan, I'm afraid. He doesn't take care with his work and, in his own words, grows more cynical with every book he, ahem, writes.

I read Deadhead this week, wizzed through it really. Was slightly disappointed at the ending. I have read one of his other books, and I really enjoyed it, but can't remember what it was!!
