Hi Marianne,
I picked up Nylon Angel the other day purely based on the fact that I knew you were a SFFWorld contributor and an Aussie author. I read it in a few hours and have to say it was an entertaining, over-the-top, action extraordinaire. It felt a bit like watching a blockbuster that wasn't taking itself too seriously. I've noticed the follow ups around and will definitely give them a ago.

As an Aussie, some of the things about a future Australia worked for me and some didn't - I found it strange that there was such a large South American influence, but it wasn't noticeable from South East Asia. Also, the reference to Bundaberg Rum was slightly jarring when city names, etc have all changed (although I wouldn't be surprised if alcohol remained the one constant in Australia's future - throw in some VB next time hey?).
Would it be telling if you revealed where Vivacity was in modern day Australia?

Anyway, it was an enjoyable read. Keep up the good work!

Hi Eventime,

thanks for dropping in to tell me your impressions. It is hard sometimes to decide what thinks to keep and what things to discard in a future scenario.
Not everything changes and I guess I figured Bundy rum will live forever!:)

Let me know how you find the other books if you read them
best

Marianne
