OK I just finished reading the Assassin's Apprentice and I have a sneaking suspicion that he is the one that has been helping out the Red-Ship Bandits, would someone please help me out cause its killing me!

Regal is in no way affiliated with the Red Ship raiders. He's just an opportunist who is using this strife to further his own gains. I haven't read them, but as I understand it, the real power behind the Red Ship raiders is at least mentioned in the third series.

I thought he was behind the red ship attacks, though I also thought that was too senseless and a bit cheesy. All the same I was a little miffed when I reached the end of the Farseer books without there being a proper answer to that question. Just keep reading, as The Fool suggested.
