In my extreme boredom, I was googling some stuff on the apocalypse and ran across a couple articles here that were pretty interesting to read. I don't really have a huge obsession witht the subject, but it is interesting to me. Anybody else follow any thing like this?

Yes it is pretty interesting. I think it's cool that we will never know (according to scripture) the day or hour when the world will end. I'm just waiting.... ;)

Life can really stink at times and it's so exciting to think or know that there is another world out there another place or entity that controls the past, present, and future of the earth. Gives more to life!

Yeah, there's some pretty cool stuff on there. I just read a little bit more.

All the end of the world stuff is kinda crazy to think about. There are a lot of theories out there right now. It's pretty crazy to read up on.

You really think there is no way of knowing when the apocalypse will come?

Don't you mean 'if' it comes? :) The apocalypse, ragnarok, acharit hayamim etc as an idea has been around for millennia, there have been hundreds of prophets and wisemen who have predicted the 'apocalypse' yet none of their predictions have come to pass. How can you tell when a world will end? There are so many possibilities, many based on the evolution of mankind, which no-one can accurately predict. I'm not holding my breath :D

Haha, well no one can predict it ...no one. Anyone who tries to predict it, I will never believe.

I swear it to you! But there are signs of the end of the world (found in the Bible: Mathew 24:1-51)
:36-"no one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
Ofcourse if you don't believe scripture you have nothing to worry about (you think)....or you have everything to worry about. It's either one way or the other and personally, that's an extreme risk to take.

1000 years ago they thought the world was suppose to end and it didn't. Confused a bunch of people and started a bunch of questions. So the Pope said it was because the Christians didn't control the Holy Land, starting the Crusades.

When you stop and think about it, there's a lot of ties between the early Muslims, Jews and Christians. Could that be the reason behind everything that's been happening lately in the world? People sure the end is coming so to make sure THEY ascend to Heaven they're trying to wipe us out?

Expendable....look up "dominon" and "dominionism" on the web. There is no doubt that there is a very powerful faction actively seeking the end of the world. Scary stuff.

I haven't looked this up yet, but what's the deal with these groups? They want the world to end and are seeking it out? That's very strange. I like reading up on the theories behind it and think it's interesting, but I'm certainly not seeking it out. The blog I've discovered looks at all kinds of angles of it, even considering a lot of modern stuff that many people, including me, wouldn't even consider when I'm thinking about it.

Well, Hoard, essentially dominionists (their name coming from some bible quote regadring how God gave man dominon of the earth and all its resourses) believe that by destroying the environment, uniting Israel and Palestine, converting the world to Christianity and reinterpreting law to fit biblical law will bring about armageddon. What makes them so scary is that they are in prominant positions in the U.S. government, like the EPA. There is some debate if Bush himself isn't a dominionist. See The Despoiling of America (http://www.yuricareport.com/Dominionism/TheDespoilingOfAmerica.htm)

I won't go into any more detail here because this is now really getting into politics.

Have you seen the Rapture Index? It's a rather amusing figure that takes into account various social and political events to determine how close we are to the Rapture. Rapture Index (http://www.raptureready.com/rap2.html)
