Well, we have a 'reading', 'watching' and 'listening' thread, so thought we should start discussing my fave topic... Chowing down!

Last night, I took the GF here:

http://www.information-britain.co.uk/hotelimages/4233a.jpg

It's probably the best restaurant in Jersey and this was our menu, I kid you not:

Home-made egg-plant caviar dips

***

Asparagus & Scallop Soup

***

Duck Pate with warm brioche

***

Crab ravioli with truffle sauce

***

Sea Bass, with Chicken and Lobster

***

Venison with a chocolate & black cherry, red wine sauce & Horse Chestnuts

***

Passion Fruit & Port Jelly

***

Chocolate & Passion Fruit Souffle, Raspberry Sorbet & Champagne Ice

***

Cheese & Biscuits

***

Coffee & Homemade chocolate violet truffles

Yea, celebrating the sale of my apartment (at last!) and passing my Postgrad in Marketing (at last!)

Although it felt less like a celebration and more like torture after the seventh course, I can tell you

Congratulations! On both counts :D

Ever tried sitting through 7 courses of a Moroccan festival? I always end up feeling like my eyes are definitely much bigger than my tummy :o

Juzzza dude, after a meal like that I hope you got propper recompenses...

And congrats again on the Mkg! -I was the anonymous response to your blog.

Back on topic: Coffee a little sugar. That's all I've had so far today. The rest of the day's meals promise to be just as bland... At least it's good Kona coffee left over from my trip to Maui last month...

The meal sounds like absolute heaven. I'm eating a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch right now. Not really as good as your 7-course dinner.

Your girlfriend is lucky Juzz, I wish I could get my husband to take me out for a sophisticated meal like that. But he's as picky as a little kid when it comes to food--won't try anything new. He'd prefer ravioli from a can than fancy crab stuffed ones. *sigh* :(

This morning I had scrambled eggs, toast, and tea for breakfast. My usual fare. Sometimes I have oatmeal too. Pretty standard I guess. In the winter my house is always so cold and I can't stand having cold cereal for breakfast, I always make myself something hot.

Hoard is obviously not on a low-carb diet, lol. :)

(not that anybody should be!) :p
