where do you think maerad will end up after all this. i mean, she says she likes being in the schools but i just cant imagine her living in one after all this is over. maybe she will travel around with cadvan rebuilding everything and helping everybody that was affected in the war

I think Minas Tirith has seven circles, but then again, I haven't read the book in ages.
I've read the sample chapters for "The Crow" and I have to say that I definately got the whole Pippin waiting for the war to break out on Minas Tirith vibe there. I know its hard to make those two battles different, especially with the storyline so similar, but I have faith in you Alison!
Predictions: Actually, while waiting for The Riddle to come out, my friend and I decided to write the next part after The Gift ourselves. We had the storyline pretty well set out, we just never got around to the writing part. After about page 15 where Maerad and Cadvan are just travelling, we decided to scrap it and have them take a bus to where they wanted to go. It certainly saved a lot more time. Then they went and found the Treesong, I won't say how because it was pretty lame, but let's just say it involved time-travel. Eeek!
I really don't think Cadvan and Maerad should end up together. They're really ... incompatible? Oh, what do I know?! It's not like I have massive amounts of experience or anything ...

Incompatible?! INCOMPATIBLE?! Ok i don't think you realised how much people you have just offended using Maerad, Cadvan and incompatible in the same sentence.
And they are too compatible! That's why they get along so well (Most of the time when Maerad's not killing bards and Maerad trusts Cadvan more then she's ever trusted anyone AND I've decided she really really loves him but just hasn't realised how to deal with it yet and understand that "lovey-dovey" feeling

You are totally right, Siobhan! I agree with you.
I think Maerad only started to learn to love when she

[SPOILER] had that thing with Winterking, because he was so straightforward about his feelings, that Maerad couldn't but get confused...[SPOILER]

and Cadvan hides his emotions very well.
But them not becoming an item is just THE END OF THE BOOK OF ALL BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do you do a spoiler bar? Mine above didn't work :(

You are absolutely right if Cadvan+Maerad don't get together I will cry!!! They do love each other but Cadvan hides his feelings very well and Maerad doesn't really understand her feelings yet!! Also at the end of The Riddle didn't Cadvan sort of start to reveal his feelings cos he showed her the tenderness thing he had never shown her before or something. That has to be a good sign!!! :)

You do spoiler bars like this:
[ SPOILER ] then [ /SPOILER ] without the gaps

so:

and voila!!

Yes, that is true! Maybe he was so fearful that he wasn't going to see Maerad again. After all, another chance is another chance.

OH, ALSO, WHEN MAERAD AND CADVAN WERE ON THE BOAT IN THE RIDDLE, AT THE BEGINNING, DIDNT cADVAN give out some sort of message, by saying he thought Maerad looked exactly like Ardina, and saying Ardina was very beautiful...

Thanks for the spoiler thing, siobhan!

Exactly but I don't actually think that is what he meant!! (and Maerad didn't either as far as I remember). I always thought that he just said that to cover up his feelings cos I thought he thought that maerad ressembled Ceredin. It does say somewhere that Maerad's mum looks like Ceredin and Maerad looks like her mum so make the link.

I'm sorry if that's a bit muddled my brain isn't really thinking straight today! :D

Nawww, poor Cadvan... so messed up about the whole Ceredin thing... Maybe that's another reason he won't show his feelings for her, maybe he's scared of getting hurt again, say, by Maerad dying (Not that I think killing Maerad is going to be that easy seeing as she's super strong, being the Chosen one and all ;) )

No worrys bai_xu :D
