Well... I would love some reviews of my novel. If I can't get feedback from strangers, how can I improve? This got me thinking (as I emailed a smashwords coupon to every fantasy reviewer I could find), why don't I review? It's only fair that I help out others the way random bloggers are going to help me by going through my work... Anyway, added a blog to my website with my first review. Will see how it goes http://mlsawyer.weebly.com/ (also ...
Well... part of my book launch, a young girl bought a copy. Well, she started on Monday, and finished it this morning! She was almost late to school because her mother was trying to get her out of the house - but she only had 20 pages to go and just had to read it. How awesome is that! Makes me feel all warm inside
Well, book launch happened today. Exciting times. Over 2.5 hours I sold 27 books (to non-family members!) How awesome is that!
Chatted to a group of highschool kids today. I'm pretty sure at least 5 of them were interested... the rest were probably just excited to be doing something different. Also made it in the high school newspaper, the local newspaper and a primary school newspaper so that was pretty exciting - colour photo in the local! Book launch tomorrow. Excited... nervous... tired from talking for less than an hour... Doesn't matter. I'm ready! Bring it!
Finally... I've figured out the formatting and my novel Quest of the Demon is available on Smashwords in all formats. For two days I've got a coupon running for all the members of SFF World. CY33M https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/39579
Thanks to all the people from SFF, I've modified my Jan FF sotry to fit the word count at http://www.antisf.com.au/ and they're going to publish 'Spot of tea?' in their August issue. All in the spirit of getting the name out there - they also publish a picture and a bio. Hooray! Also double exciting day. Fiancé bought me an amazon kindle for our anniversary... just downloaded the The Kinshield Legacy by sff's very own KCMay and will be looking for other kindle books ...
My first published novel! All ready for my book launch (that is still a month away as they arrived earlier than expected... oh well, better safe than sorry.)
My first run of books has been printed. My very first novel is on its' way to me at this very moment! Hooray! (all in plenty of time for my book launch in March... though I susspect I'm going to get some books out there before my home town launch... reviewer's at any rate fingers crossed!) Life is good!

As I have made my book launch a public event on facebook... I wonder if any random person can click on 'attending'.... http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/...79919582039927 Don't suppose there's anyone out there game enough to click attend (even if you're not in Aus or just not interested in coming... I just want to see if it works)
Between 10am - 1pm book launch at the Seymour Library (Victoria, Australia). I'm excited, getting my official invites ready... lets see... local newspaper, local news (one can live in hope), local politicians, high school teachers (we only have one highschool in Seymour)... Who else (aside from everyone I know personally)???
I've seen book teasers as a new and interesting way to advertise books, so I thought I'd have a crack at it... so I re-did some of my pictures from my doodle books (up to 14 years worth of idle drawings) and mocked up my own teaser... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dqqKYwvv2Y Let me know what you think.
http://www.freado.com/read/8974/quest-of-the-demon My first few pages of my very first novel are available online as a teaser from my publisher. Let me know what you think.
