For me, I love to write. It's just been a while since I've been in "the zone." I hope that 2012 will be a great year regarding my creative writing process. I'm going to start the year off by working on some short stories and hopefully entering some contests, but I hope to have started my novel (to be finished by 2013) by the second quarter this year.

I'll use part of this writing blog as a log of my progress.

One of the things that first got me into creative writing when it was younger was writing contests. In addition to the appeal of a cash reward, I liked the idea of competing against other entities.

I haven't done extensive research into creative writing contest over the past few months, but it seems that the writing contest and poetry contest market's have shrunken over the past few years. Would you guys agree, or am I just checking all the wrong places?
