The Proposal

Posted November 18th, 2009 at 03:55 PM by tmso (Land of TMSO)

Okay. Just so you all know, this is essentially what I put in the proposal.

Point #1 - Which/how many submissions
Winning entries only with up to three total (from the whole year) nominated non-winners (for a maximum of 15 stories).

Point #2 - Distribution
Amazon Kindle
Lulu
Smashwords

Three potential options. All perfectly viable. Decision can come later, this is no biggie.

Point #3 - Use of SFFWorld.com...

Chewing my fingernails off...

Okay. So. I've been told (several times) to wait.

For what!?!? Joking!

UPDATE:
The effort to publish an anthology of the winning flash fiction entries is still underway...stay tuned...I'll keep you all updated when I can.

Hijacking the contest

Posted November 11th, 2009 at 09:40 AM by tmso (Land of TMSO)

Hello!

It just came to my attention that some might think I am hijacking the contest.

That is not my intention. I understand that the contests are run and perpetuated by the members on this forum to improve their craft. If this little project of mine is undermining that effort, then by all means, STOP ME.

Copyrights, Contracts, the Money/Sticky Point #4

Actually, the whole copy right issue and contract issue is fairly straight forward (as it's been hashed out a thousand times over). It's the money thing that could get a little sticky, especially if we want to do this with SFFWorld.com.

I would propose using the SFWA Model Anthology Contract between the writers and SFFWorld and/or whomever ends up supreme dictator of the project.

Does that seem acceptable?

As far as the money...still haven't figured...

Use of SFFWorld name & logo/Sticky Point #3

Kater pointed out that I need to be clear with what it is I would like to do with the SFFWorld.com name/logo in conjunction with this project.

Sterling13 pointed out that having the SFFWorld.com name/logo on this project would lend 'weight' and credibility to the product and, therefore, it's appeal.

I agree. My idea is that the name/logo of SFFWorld would be prominently displayed on the anthology for the following two reasons:
1) lend credibility to the project...
