Penguin has put up chapter 1 of Ghost Story.
Read it.
It's fun to see this taking shape, I was thinking it was going to go this direction, and after the first few pages, the next "reveal" is hinted at enough I knew it was going that way. And the next "reveal" after that also was nicely hinted at and felt obvious once you got to it, and I'm also noticing I can feel the chapter approaching an end. Maybe I'm getting used to Butcher's style or I'm becoming especially brilliant.
Of course, later in the chapter my theory on who killed Harry is ... well, pretty sure my idea was wrong. I didn't like that theory, but it had a certain logic to it...

Better still, I'm pretty sure what address Harry's going to put down. Cue: Mortimer Tate. Although it might be Father Forthill or Molly or for that matter the Carpenter family, or even McCoy or for that matter, McAnnaly's. But I'm still putting my chips on Mortimer.

This one is going to be fun....
I'm also thinking this is going to be a lot less geographically-constrained since Harry can probably move a lot faster in this book than typical (
Changes had another way to move people around faster, as a side note). Perhaps he can get around to seeing someone who's not in Chicago...
And I'm curious how Butcher is going to work with a generally powerless and observer-mode only Harry Dresden.
Also curious if "Little Chicago" will finally figure into a book more or if that one died in Proven Guilty. I figure it's coming back, but when, that's the question. Maybe he's giving it a book or five so people forget it a little.

I was hoping it was going to have elements of "How Gandalf got his White On." Looks like it will.
