Ok I'm a newbie so be gentle please.

Blogging is new for me. Even though I have been in the computer industry almost from the dawn of pc's. When they did call the personnel computers and a laptop was a tv tray.

I have been writing for so long I can't remember when I started. My first baby, The Seekers' Prophecies: The Rebirth was devoured by Publish America. I went into it as blindly as I am going into blogging. Now after many painful hours (months) of research I do realize it was a mistake. Lucky for me the other six books in the series are still just on my computer.

So now I am in the process of editing "The Seekers' Prophecies: The Protector's Journey". I am pursuing finding an agent that can represent me in my children's book (fantasy) and my science fiction books.

As you can tell I'm long winded sometimes. So any feedback from the blog world would be helpful. Oh and please note: I am aware of all the uggs about my current publisher and I have said most of them on different forums. So much so that I can't even submit on the publisher forum because I was banned.

    Welcome. I am pretty much a newbie too. Don't know anything about Publish America, so I will take your word for it. Hope you find an audience here.

    I'm familiar with the lurid tales of Publish America's modus operandi. As far as guarding yourself from the disreputable and dishonest goes, you should be able to find plenty of serviceable resources at SFWA's website.

    If you want to know the whole story, there are crowds over on Absolute Write or google. That information is out there. If you want to go that way, that's fine, but go that way with your eyes open and knowing what you're getting into. I just don't see myself buying a $25 paperback, so...

    I am a member of AW, and I do know the whole story. So much so that I am banned from PA boards. Seems they don't like their authors (clients) knowing the total truth. Was banned about two weeks after they gave me an id for thier boards (PA banned that is). When I posted difficult questions they didn't want to answer.

    Sorry to hear about your bad experience, but glad you're working through it. I'm so glad I found this forum. It's nice to know there are other people out there with the same obsesive illness I've got.

    As I understand it, being banned on PA is like a badge of clued-in-ness w.r.t. PA. From what I've heard. So give yourself some credit there.
