Despite being in the midst of a great war, I recieved a rather uncanny letter today by way of Lord Karagan. It read thus:

I can quite confidently state you've
got more talent than Stephanie Meyer. 'Tis true, and as crap as she is, that's
more than a large proportion of FFnet can say.

As for hunting for good things to say about the fic: I can't say I like
fantasy novels of the generic sub-Tolkien kind, and I can't say I like
unoriginal romance. If your mushy male lover - who is a bard - writes a poem,
it should at least have a metrical structure. Or does Bard not in fact mean
poet in the novels? In any case, your choice of genre and fandom didn't give
me any inclination to like your writing, I'm afraid.

I find myself baffled. I. Dernhil of Gent, am being compared to the worst writers in Edil-Amarandh? What nonesense is this? Am I to believe my writing is truly horrible? Perhaps I should not have survived after all, if such things are going to be said...

    If someone does not know what they are talking about then do not listen. They are not even a good poet; I do not say Annaren well and even I know that. If I lived then you should too, despite what the others say. I did not know many Bards who use that way of poem writing and I am from a noble family, so I knowed lots of Bards.

    Well, Hem is alive. And so am I. And we are both young. And Maerad is alive too. That means there is hope, and that is good news, correct? (Hem is the brother of Maerad, you knew, or not?)

    (I'm wondering if they're at the same times- or is she ahead of him? He would have felt it if the Treesong had been released, right? Zelika is writing a few months after that point in time.)

    That letter made not one word of sense to me. I think you should ignore such nonsensical gibberish.

    I did not know Maerad had a brother. What great news! Perhaps when I return to Innail, I shall meet him.

    And thank you Maerad- I do agree that the whole letter was a bit trite.

    Continue your writing Dernhil, your works are far more better than the others. Don't make this rubbish ruin your deisre.
