I got 2 books that I had ordered through Borders:
When the Eagle Hunts, by Simon Scarrow, TP Book 3 of the Eagle series. For some reason not all of them are published in the US, and a couple are still in HC. Raising the Past, by Jeremy Robinson, TP Suspect this might be self-published, but I am interested in the premise of an ancient frozen mammoth, with a secret inside. |
I used my Borders Rewards holiday cash to buy a history book that interested me:
Ancient Cities of the Indus Valley Civilization, by Jonathan Mark Kenoyer |
My non-genre holiday haul:
The Pillars of the Earth, by Ken Follett, PB I asked for this one because I have read so many good things about it. The Thrall's Tale, by Judith Lindbergh, TP |
I used an Amazon gift certificate to buy The Woman in Black: A Ghost Story by (I forgot already) and Black Swan Green by David Mitchell.

"The Anarchical System = a study of order in world politics" by Hedley Bull
Published in the mid 80's, bull was a foremost liberal IR theorist, and this is his classic piece......a very academic piece.....for those who are students of politics. "The Raj Syndrome = a study in imperial perceptions" by Suhash Chakravarty A book about British perceptions of their colonial holdings in India....good stuff from a heralded history professor in India. "the myth of sisyphus" by Albert Camus acctually, I didn't just buy this....but I've reread it recently for the 10th time....best work of philosophy ever..... |
I was just at half price books and saw a Linear Algebra text book from 1961....i wanted it so bad, but it cost almost 30 dollars, shame....
um, yeah, I like math, and like looking and buying textbooks (same goes for poli sci textbooks) however, I did buy the following books= The Bridge Called my Back ; Writings by Radical Women of Color (1981) Discrete Mathematics (1987 ; textbook) |
