Re: The Bastards and the Knives
I got a reply from Bill from Subpress yesterday, told me he has no idea when Scott even intends to hand in the novellas, or one of them. So probably not this year.

I hope Bakker's The Judging Eye really does make it next January. This is the third delay I believe
It is. Overlook in the US has not been promoting it either yet so it probably will be a US and UK release at the same time. Maybe they could just squeeze it in this year. But probably not. One of the stories I'm most keen to read more about, it ends on a real cliffhanger.

Lou Anders mentioned that a collection of Mac'Donald's Future India stories, called Cyberabad Days, is coming out in 09. Capital.
Why not pick up the UK edition that comes out in August already?

And speaking of Pyr: they've put together a snappy-looking sample book of quite substantial size, containing meaty excerpts from some of their 08 releases, and have posted it online as a PDF
Cool, thanks for the tip.

I shall close this long post with the standard expression of hope: May GRRM enjoy much success in his great work. June draws ever nearer!
I'll join you in that, it's the book I'm most eager to see in print. But I suspect, based on nothing but past experience and the pace he has been maintaing, that he will once again fail to make it. Maybe I'm being too gloomy.
