I'm just focused on finishing the books...!!! - tell you what, my husband is meeting Yann Tiercen (remember the music for Amelie?) sometime this week, maybe he can write the music! He's pretty fabulous, we have all his cds...and he writes all kinds of stuff.

I've been playing for a few years now. I'm on grade 5, hope to move on to a bass guitar, anyone know if they are played similarly? I know both the cello and the bass have 4 strings but are the notes the same?

Well, I play the violin and the bassoon so with you two celloists we could make a great trio! The bass guitar is easy-peasy; it has the same strings as the double bass, only with frets (which obviously make it doubly easy).

Damnit, I was gonna have a go

I'm getting Sibelius (a notation program with better-than-midi sound) at the end of this term, I'm looking for some way to break it in...

Well, I expect Yann is a little busy - so go for it with ol' Sibelius, Akdor: I'm not one to stop you if you feel inspired. But you'll have to upload mp3 files somewhere so we can hear them.

I can play the guitar and the piano...we could start our own Pellinor band!

I was just reading the poems in the books and figured that my favourite poem/lyric was the one in Part Three of The Riddle 'Zmarkan' it was really sad, I really loved it!
