Josh Groban's "Remember Me" is perfect for Dernhil. God he has such an amazing voice, and I think he could play Dernhil...

    http://video.aol.com/video-detail/jo...roy/1845257497

    Remember
    I will still be here
As long as you hold me
    In your memory

    Remember
    When your dreams have ended
    Time can be transcended
    Just remember me

I am the one star that keeps burning so brightly
It is the last light to fade into the rising sun
Im with you whenever you tell my story
For I am all Ive done

    Remember
    I will still be here
As long as you hold me
    In your memory,
    remember me

I am that warm voice in the cold wind that whispers
And if you listen youll hear me call across the sky
As long as I still can reach out and touch you
    Then I will never die

    Remember
    Ill never leave you
    If you will only
    Remember me
    (Remember me)

    Remember
    I will still be here
As long as you hold me
    In your memory

    Remember
    When your dreams have ended
    Time can be transcended
    I live forever
    Remember me
    Remember me
    Remember me

    No more talk of darkness,
    forget these wide-eyed fears;
I'm here, nothing can harm you,
my words will warm and calm you.
    Let me be your freedom,
    let daylight dry your tears;
I'm here, with you, beside you,
to guard you and to guide you.

    Say you'll love me ev'ry waking moment;

    Let me be your shelter,
    let me be your light;
you're safe, no one will find you,
your fears are far behind you.

    All I want is freedom,
    a world with no more night;
    and you, always beside me,
to hold me and to hide me.

    Then say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime;
let me lead you from you solitude.
Say you need me with you, here beside you,
anywhere you go, let me go too,
that's all I ask of you.

Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime.
Say the word and I will follow you.

Share each day with me, each night, each morning.

    Say you love me...

    You know I do.

Love me, that's all I ask of you.

Anywhere you go let me go too

    Love me...
that's all I ask of you.

I just saw that a week or so ago, for my birthday! It was the professional cast, on tour. It was AWESOME.

Love the music. So haunting and gorgeous.

Anyhoo, I have a song about Maerad & Cadvan from Cadvan's POV. It's by Dashboard Confessional, one of my favorite bands.

(It could also apply very well to Edward and Bella, too, I think, if you're a fan of Twilight.)

    Hope dangles on a string
    Like slow spinning redemption
    Winding in, winding out
The shine of it has caught my eye

    And roped me in
    So mesmerizing
    So hypnotizing
    I am captivated
    I am

    Vindicated
I am selfish, I am wrong
    I am right, I swear I'm right
Swear I knew it all along
    And I am
    Flawed
But I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now
The things you swore you saw yourself

    So clear
Like the diamond in your ring
    Cut to mirror your intention
    Oversized and overwhelmed
The shine of which has caught my eye
    And rendered me so
    Isolated so
    Motivated
    I am
    Certain now that I am

    Vindicated
I am selfish, I am wrong
    I am right, I swear I'm right
Swear I knew it all along
    And I am
    Flawed
But I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now
The things you swore you saw yourself

    So tie
up the corners of your lips
Part them and feel my finger tips
    Trace the moment for forever

    Defense is paper thin
    Just
One touch and I'll be in
    Too
    Deep now to ever swim
    Against the current
So let me slip away (x3)
So let me slip against the current
So let me slip away (x4)

    Vindicated
I am selfish, I am wrong
    I am right, I swear I'm right
Swear I knew it all along
    And I am
    Flawed
But I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now
The things you swore you saw yourself

    My hope
    dangles on a string
    Like slow spinning redemption...

Just with all the stuff about Ceredin, and how Maerad sees the good in him when he feels like he's an awful man.

Here are some more themes that remind me of Pellinor:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEa3sB-Zdxg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrIOFm9QzUM- used in an upcoming pellinor video; I love it. It's beautiful

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3GtLl2ZZrI

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKgM5LVEu7Q- I'm sure you all know what movie this is from. For some reason though, I feel it could be used perhaps at the end of the books, when Maerad realizes it's all over and that all the struggles she went through are in the past.

The first one is nice, and I can see the tune being adapted for more intense scenes too. Second one is also good but in my opinion not as beautiful as the first. I like the third too.

    This. Song. Is. Gorgeous.

Tears of an Angel by RyanDan.

    Cover my eyes
    Cover my ears
Tell me these words are a lie
    It cant be true
    That I'm losing you
The sun cannot fall from the sky

    Can you hear heaven cry
    Tears of an angel
    Tears of aaaaaaaa...
    Tears of an angel
    Tears of an angel.

    Stop every clock
    Stars are in shock
The river will flow to the sea
    I wont let you fly
    I wont say goodbye
I wont let you slip away from me

    Can you hear heaven cry
    Tears of an angel
    Tears of aaaaaaaa...
    Tears of an angel
    Tears of an angel.

    So hold on
    Be strong
    Everyday on we'll go
    I'm here, dont you fear

    Little one dont let go
    (ooooooooooohhhhhhhhh)
    Dont let go
    (ooooooooooohhhhhhhhh)
    Dont let go
    (ooooooooooohhhhhhhhh)

    Cover my eyes
    Cover my ears

It could be Cadvan's thoughts when
    Spoiler:
Maerad has just released the Treesong anhd he thinks she's dead.

Also the main title for The Last of the Mohicans seems like a Pellinor-soundtrack-ish tune to me. The one for The Tudors could work too.

Ooh, I LOVE the Last of the Mohicans soundtrack! I just listened to it today, actually, haha. And yeah, I can see what you mean-- it's very epic.

I'm going to put that song on hold @ my library and I'll tell you what I think when I listen to it.

this song kinda reminds me of cadvan mainly the chorus though

    You're beautiful, that's for sure
    You'll never ever fade
You're lovely but it's not for sure
    That I won't ever change
And though my love is rare
    Though my love is true

    [Chorus:]
I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away
I don't know where my soul is, I don't know where my home is
(and baby all I need for you to know is)
I'm like a bird, I'll only fly away
I don't know where my soul is , I don't know where my home is
All I need for you to know is

Your faith in me brings me to tears
    Even after all these years
And it pains me so much to tell
That you don't know me that well
And though my love is rare
    Though my love is true

    [Chorus]

It's not that I wanna say goodbye
It's just that every time you try to tell me that you love me
Each and every single day I know
I'm going to have to eventually give you away
And though my love is rare
And though my love is true
    Hey I'm just scared
    That we may fall through

I discovered this song watching Bones- Bring on the Wonder by Susan Enan- and for some reason it reminds me of Maerad and Cadvan.

I can't see the stars anymore living here
Let's go to the hills where the outlines are clear

    Bring on the wonder
    Bring on the song
I pushed you down deep in my soul for too long

I fell through the cracks at the end of our street
Let's go to the beach, get the sand through our feet

    Bring on the wonder
    Bring on the song
I pushed you down deep in my soul for too long

    Bring on the wonder
    We got it all wrong
We pushed you down deep in our souls for too long

I don't have the time for a drink from the cup
Let's rest for a while 'til our souls catch us up

    Bring on the wonder
    Bring on the song
I pushed you down deep in my soul for too long

    Bring on the wonder
    We got it all wrong
We pushed you down deep in our souls, so hang on

    Bring on the wonder
    Bring on the song
I pushed you down deep in my soul for too long.

I didn't realize there was a music thread! LoL! Well, here's my Pellinor Youtube account - I've begun to create songs from several of Alison's lyrics:

    http://www.youtube.com/user/BardofPellinor?feature=moby

yay Garageband! The folksong was the first thing I've ever made in GarageBand so the guitar kinda sucks. lol. Enjoy though!

    it's all good!
although I observed that the tunes are sad...

Yeah, but just because a melody is in a minor key doesn't mean it's supposed to be sad. Of course the dying songs, yeah those are pretty bittersweet. But in, for example, Russia, some of their happiest songs are in a minor key. It's kind of a...very modern idea that happy songs have to be in a major key. Since this is a very long time ago, I'm trying to stick to older instruments and ideas.

Anyway haunting melodies are easier to write for me. xD
